What we do

Care and Support for young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties

In accordance with the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Children Acts of 1989 and 2004, Bryn Social Care Ltd is committed to providing a high-quality, caring, safe, and structured environment for all children and young people of either gender and diverse backgrounds who are between the ages of 7 and 17 years old.
A maximum of three children and young people can be supported at Bryn at any given time. The young people we care for have Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) as a result of early life trauma including complex or challenging behaviour, neglect, and family breakdown or disruption.

Our core objective include, providing high quality care in a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment that meets the needs of our young people. We provide child centred care packages which work towards developing effective attachments, and longer-term stable placements that can lead to improved outcomes for our children and young people.

Who We Can Support

Our mission is to deliver exceptional residential care for young people aged 7 to 17 who are navigating challenging life events. We guide them in making positive choices and taking steps toward independent living, by recognising and nurturing each person’s unique talents and abilities. Our ethos blends compassion, humour, and a genuinely inclusive environment.

We empower young people to grow in confidence, explore their identity, and transform past challenges into sources of strength. Through one-to-one mentoring, tailored support, and personal development, we help them thrive. We also offer workshops, training courses, and bespoke events designed to meet individual needs—because we know that no two journeys are the same.

What is residential care?

Residential care provides a safe, supportive home environment for vulnerable children, where they live alongside other young people and are cared for by qualified support workers who work on a shift basis.

Will I have my own room?

You’ll have your own room to decorate and make your own. You’ll receive pocket money suited to your age, and as you get older, we’ll help you learn budgeting skills to manage it wisely.

Will I still be going school/college?

Your keyworker will work with you to stay in the same school or college, helping you keep your friends and stay on track with your learning.

Are there any rules?

When you move in, your keyworker will explain what’s expected from you and what you can expect from them. Respecting the home, its rules, and the people will make your experience more positive.

Is a residential unit the same as a foster placement?

They are similar, but not the same. A residential care unit is usually larger than a foster home and has more adults on site—qualified support workers and managers who work in shifts rather than living there.

What if I'm unhappy or have a complaint?

If you want to make a complaint in your residential unit, just ask a staff member. There’s usually a box to submit it. We’re here to help you settle in, so feel free to ask for anything you need.
